I live in Pett with my Family, having spent most of my life in and around the village.
In the early 1990s I was encouraged by the then Chairman of Icklesham Parish Council to get involved as a Parish Councillor and he convinced me that Councillors at all levels can make a difference.
I then went on to be elected to Rother and then East Sussex Councils. I have been Leader of East Sussex County Council since 2013.
Being the County Councillor for Rye and Eastern Rother gives me the opportunity to represent the people who elected me and being Leader allows me the chance to debate and take the lead on issues of local and national importance.
