Hastings Borough Councillor - Conquest Ward
Although born in London, I have lived in Hastings for thirty years. The town has many deep-rooted, complex social issues, but I love living here. It has such a vibrant artistic community. The music scene is amazing, and of course, it has a unique history.
It has been an honour to represent Conquest Ward. In that time, I have met many diverse people at both ward surgeries and more recently, virtually.
I have a passion for the environment. I would like to see more planning priority put on using the many existing brownfield sites in Hastings rather than the relentless development of our precious green spaces.
"Dear Resident,
I hope you and your family are keeping well. I'm proud to have served as your Conservative Councillor here in Conquest since 2018. We've tackled many challenges, from street issues to planning concerns, and I'm looking forward to another year of progress together.
A key issue, the Harrow Lane Playing Field, brought us together. Despite not stopping the project, our united stand showed our commitment to the environment and public spaces across our town.
I've also worked on respecting the nuns' graves at Holmhurst St Mary, addressed health concerns from construction dust, and helped with various issues on your behalf, from potholes to flooding, nuisance trees to bereavements.
It's my job to represent you and your views on council committees. Here, I focus on transparency, fairness, and holding Labour accountable for their overspending, borrowing and mishandling of council finances.
Whether it's in the Council chamber or out in the ward, I will continue fighting. With this in mind, I would like to hear your thoughts on the issues that matter most to you. Below are my contact details and a link to my Councillors Survey; I would love to hear how I can help you.
Best wishes,
Best,"
